Doctors named four early symptoms of COVID-19

British and Canadian doctors have named four early symptoms of the coronavirus. It is reported by the Daily Express tabloid, an application of the Express newspaper.

The first sign is confusion. Scientists from Imperial College London claim that it can last up to several months after recovery and is one of the cognitive consequences of the infection.

Another symptom is increased fatigue. Scientists from Trinity College Dublin found that it occurs in about every second COVID-19 patient and can persist for up to 10 weeks.

Gastroenterological problems are another important sign. One in five people infected with coronavirus has stomach problems, lack of appetite, and also complains of diarrhea and vomiting.

These symptoms do not necessarily mean that the patient has COVID-19, according to Mitch Wilson, a physician at the University of Alberta in Canada, who cites data from several dozen studies. However, the expert urged not to ignore these manifestations, but to turn to doctors.

Doctor Dayana Gall stated that diarrhea is one of the early symptoms of this infection.

Conjunctivitis is another early manifestation of this virus. However, it appears only in 3% of cases, writes Gazeta.Ru.

In late October, scientists from the International League of Dermatological Communities and the American Academy of Dermatology discovered that COVID-19 can manifest as irritation on the toes.

Many patients who were later diagnosed with the virus had red and swollen toes and feet. It was similar to frostbite and lasted from one to four weeks. For some, the symptom persisted for several months. What this is connected with remains to be seen.

In July, Spanish scientists found the earliest symptom of the coronavirus. The study showed that a number of patients had enanthema in the mouth – a severe rash on the mucous membrane.
