Testing Workers For COVID-19 is Not Subject To Insurance Premiums

The cost paid by the employer for employees to conduct research for the presence of a new coronavirus infection (2019-nCoV) in organizations admitted to conducting such research, the need for which is due to the provision of normal (safe) working conditions for employees, is not subject to insurance premiums (Letter of the Ministry of Finance of Russia dated 7 July 2020 No. 03-15-06 / 58517).

In addition, if an organization enters into VHI contracts or contracts for the provision of medical services with medical organizations for a period of at least one year, within the framework of which tests for COVID-19 can be carried out, then the amounts of payments under such contracts are also not subject to insurance premiums.

However, according to the Ministry of Finance of Russia, if the organization reimburses employees for their testing costs, such compensations are subject to insurance premiums, since these payments are not listed in the list of non-taxable amounts.
